Drink spiking involves adding a substance to somebody’s drink without their knowledge or consent. It can happen to alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, which is why taking sensible precautions when you’re out can be worthwhile.
The Spikey Bottle Stopper is designed specifically for bottled drinks. Once pushed firmly into the neck of the bottle, it creates a close-fitting barrier around the opening while leaving a small central hole for a drinking straw.
This makes it more difficult for somebody to add something directly to the bottle without you noticing. Spikey should be used as an additional precaution rather than as a replacement for keeping an eye on your drink and staying aware of your surroundings.
You can also find more information about substances associated with drink spiking on our pages about Rohypnol, GHB and ketamine.

Which Pack Size Should I Choose?

- 10 Pack: a handy quantity for occasional nights out or keeping in a handbag or travel bag.
- 20 Pack: useful if you go out regularly or want enough to share with friends and family.
- 100 Pack: suitable when a larger quantity is required, including for groups, events or organisations.
How To Use Spikey

Drink Safety
No drink-protection product can guarantee that a drink will not be tampered with. Spikey is intended to provide an additional physical barrier at the opening of a bottle.
Continue to keep your drink with you where possible, avoid accepting opened drinks from people you do not trust and do not leave a drink unattended. If you believe your drink may have been interfered with, do not continue drinking it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does a Spikey Bottle Stopper work?
Spikey fits into the neck of a bottle and closes much of the open space around the top. A small central opening allows you to drink through a straw.
Does Spikey guarantee that my drink cannot be spiked?
No. Spikey provides an additional physical barrier and can help reduce access to an open bottle, but it should always be used alongside sensible drink-safety precautions.
Can I remove the Spikey after inserting it?
No. The existing product instructions state that once Spikey has been fully inserted it cannot be removed. It should be disposed of with the bottle when you have finished your drink.
What colours will I receive?
Packs contain randomly selected fluorescent Spikey Bottle Stoppers, so the exact combination of colours may vary.
Where is Spikey made?
Spikey Bottle Stoppers are made in the United Kingdom.
